Peralta & Lincoln Elementary Schools Earn Title I Achievement Awards
Two of Alameda County's elementary schools have earned the coveted Title 1 Achievement Award.  This honor goes to schools that produce sterling academic results while serving a socio-economically disadvantaged population.  Peralta's school principal, Rosette Costello, credits much of her school's success to arts education: "Our dedication to joyful, enthusiastic learning has a strong grounding in the arts."

Arts advocates in Los Angeles have spoken and it's because of them that a proposal to erase $4 million in city council grants has been taken off the table.  Read our blog post about Arts for LA's efforts to keep arts alive in California.

The Los Angeles County Arts Commission is now accepting applications for the Arts for All Arts Education Professional Development Directory on LAArtsEd.orgLAArtsEd.org is Arts for All’s online resource to support school districts and their community partners in building classroom partnerships. The Web site provides best practices in arts education and ways to increase the capacity of districts and teachers to deliver quality arts instruction.
