Writing the Script

Whether you are preparing to make a presentation to the school board; developing a handout to disseminate at a parent meeting; submitting a letter to the editor or creating an elevator speech, your script should include:

• A set of concise and repeatable messages that will resonate with your target audiences,
  
• Data and proof points to illustrate need and prove positive outcomes,
  
• Compelling stories that humanize the issue and,
  
• Catchy and quotable sound bites that can be used by the media.
