Speak out at your local school board meeting

Attending your school board meetings is an important part of strengthening your local community support. In nearly every town across the country, school board meetings are open to the public and the local press, and local community members have two minutes to make statements, ask questions and raise suggestions. This is a great opportunity to push for greater arts learning.
- Gather a group of parents and fellow advocates to attend a school board meeting to address arts education.
- If other advocates take part, share your talking points about arts education and the NCLB Act to the group so everyone stays on message
- Make sure each person stands and speaks for the time allowed by the chairperson.
